What is a Gaussian Splat?
Instead of polygons and textures, a Gaussian Splat scene is made of millions of tiny, semi-transparent ellipsoids—each with its own position, shape, colour and opacity. Captured from photos or video of a real location, they blend together into an image that looks remarkably like the real thing.
The catch is scale: convincing scenes need millions of splats, and every one has to be drawn for both eyes, every frame. Quest Splat is our renderer for doing exactly that on a standalone headset.

Designed around the headset’s standalone mobile hardware from day one—not a desktop renderer squeezed down to fit.
Hold captured scenes of more than 10 million Gaussian splats, so places keep their depth, foliage and fine texture.
Stand in a real place at true scale and move through it naturally, with no PC or cable attached.
